Where, Oh Where, has my little dog gone..

Ok..so where oh where have i been??
Lets just say ive been so busy that im having to take my little netbook to work and blog inbetween my calls..craziness!
So flashback to a couple of weeks ago, we had our one year (!!!) wedding (and 6 years together) anniversary, and we celebrated in style at the Park Hotel in b-e-a-utiful Hibbing, MN.

Mind you, it wasnt the most ideal destination, but we made do.
The reason we were in historic Hibbing…

me at Bob Dylans childhood home..

of course, was for an uncles wedding which was fun. Of course, we have pictures.
The night before we enjoyed some family time at the rehearsal dinner..and played with sparklers..

My Uncle was getting married in the church that my parents got married in..so you know that means..photo op!

The sunday we got home we decided to actually have our anniversary dinner, complements of my parents. boy, was that steak DELISH. i have come to appreciate my dad’s wonderful steak grilling skills, as i have repeatedly overcooked my steak. It wasnt too bad, but i like ‘em real juicy and beat red. Alas, practice makes perfect.

We had steak, baked potatoes, salad, corn, and bread. Mmm.
For dessert, charlie surprised me with some oreo cookie ice cream, So GOOD. So we enjoyed it outside.

I am really looking forward to being able to eat on a nice patio someday, instead of a slanted piece of concrete with weeds poking through. Ah well, in due time. This will have to suffice.

So flashforward a couple weeks..and were getting ready to visit the parents at a cabin they rented on lake Mille Lacs. Much fun, but first..oh, but first..ozzy needed a nice little hair cut. I debated bringing him in,paying 60 bucks for him to get fluffed and have crazy anxiety..but in the end i said, per usual, ” why cant i just do it myself?” i mean, i already give oz little hair cuts with scissors when it gets too long..why not a buzzer?
So charlie and oz made a run to the doggie store and picked one out–i think charlie said it was 30 bucks or something, which made it completely worth it. hey, it might even work on future kiddies haircuts! you never know ;]
We made a nice little spa set up in the back bedroom, complete with a doggie trimming table. Here are some before pictures. Clearly oz is confused.

He looks pretty good me thinks! check out all that extra fur!

I thought I might as well get that extra fuzz off charlies toes while we’re at it..

The cabin was great, Oz had so much fun in the water. This may sound pretty lame, but he just amazes me at how smart he is. Sure, i fondly call him the resident retard at times, but overall..he is a very smart boy. Cockapoos are known to be little devious pups with a knack for problem solving, and so far he has lived up to the description.
We have seriously contemplated getting another one. Infact, we are currently contemplating. Our little family unit is perfect the way it is, but Oz is so social and I cant help but believe that he would just thrive with a brother. Time will tell, but there may be a furry addition in the future..if I have anything to do with it ;)
Anyway, back to the cabin..Some pictures for your enjoyment:

And now, some silly pictures to tide you over..

And a little sneak peak at what ive been working on for the past MONTH..

See you very soon with the reveal!

I think you must have set your white balance on my chest, in the shirtless dock sitting picture.

I commend you for following through on grooming Mr.Oz. I got as far as turning the clippers on and Fergie wore her nails out trying to get away.
Good luck with the cabinet painting! Lots of work but definitely worth it.
Nice tiling job, Charlie. I’m impressed.

  4. Charlie says:

I can’t in good faith take credit for the tiling, send your kudos Dennis’ way. Unless your favorite part is the grout; in which case I would take any compliments.

  5. vickie says:

I give you a superior rating on the grout work.
