Baby Adilene had her very first solid this morning.
No, no. Caramel corn from great grammie and gigi does NOT count as babys first food.
So, Addie is only 5.75 months and our plan was to wait until 6 months..But we thought it would be fun to let Addie have a little taste this morning. No harm in tasting some hotcakes, right?
She was a little weary, but enjoyed exploring her first taste of solids. We’re doing “baby led weaning,” or rather, “baby led solids.” Addie will explore her food by skipping baby food and purees. The theory is that it teaches babies to trust their instincts around food and eating, as well as learning to chew before they learn to swallow. We chose to try this because, frankly, Addie runs the show when it comes to food. Addie knows what she wants, so we’re gonna trust her to pave the way. Case in point: Addie still refusing the bottle when shes away from mama. (5-8 oz MAX per 8 hours in daycare. yeah.
We’ll start solids for REAL in a week!
It looks like eating solid food will be quite an adventure ( for bebe and dogs) – Just remember though, what happens at gigis’, stays at gigis’
LOL
i hope youre kidding and respect this mama’s wishes
How fun!
I have to say, although we’ve been feeding Mack for almost 2 months, I still get excited to feed him every time!
Mmmmm….got a bag of Grammie’s (think that should be her nickname for the great grandchildren to call her) caramel corn right here!
I polished off my bag of Grammy’s Caramel corn … immediately after getting home with it. Oh yum.
Oh Addie … it looks like you will have just as much fun with your attentive dinner time friends as little Finnie does around here. Ashley, I hope you’re not opposed to them eating people food ;0)
Oh, and Finley is requesting I find out where Addie got her necklace? That is so adorable!
YES, yes..the doggies are even more excited about their new found treat giver…
at least it helps cut down on the mess!
Addies necklace is a Baltic amber teething necklace. she doesn’t chew on it, but natural amber has healing oils that get released when they touche skin. they have them for a bunch of different ailments, and its supposed to help with teething pain when worn around her neck. i got it from inspiredbyfinn.com
